The existing Lions Gate Wastewater Treatment Plant has provided primary treatment for over 50 years. New federal regulations and the Province require that wastewater treatment on the North Shore be upgraded from primary treatment to secondary treatment.
Metro Vancouver has worked closely with North Shore communities, special interest groups, local governments and First Nations since 2012 to learn about their values, interests and concerns.

ADAPT Consortium is responsible for the final design and construction of the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant. The final design will build on the principles resulting from the Indicative Design, which was developed with the community in 2013. The design will be subject to the District of North Vancouver’s Development Permit Process.
